Traces: Schuylkill River

I was excited to be a part of Invisible River’s Schuylkill River Arts Day, joining a selection of Philadelphia performers who are investigating how movement can shape our understanding of our waterways.  I was out on Kelly Drive, performing with Julia Cuccaro and making dance drawings, from 10a-2p on July 16, 2016.

Traces: Schuylkill River is a dance work inspired by stream dynamics and the Schuylkill River’s morphology, creating a visual art work in the process of performance by capturing the movement pathways of dancing on the ground in various media. Through our three performances, we created three dance drawings, in graphite, charcoal, and pastels.

Traces is an ongoing body of work exploring physical spaces around water and the interface of human boundaries and infrastructure with natural ones.
